Incredible ‘holographic’ virtual aquarium

The video below was made by Memukhin Oleg, it features CGI fish swimming in a virtual aquarium.

The detail to the fishes movement and behaviour is incredibly in depth, with the individual fish appearing to each have a mind of their own, exhibiting cohesion, separation and alignment, obstacle avoidance and flight behaviour.

The effect is quite dazzling, and although this is only a short video and is not yet a true ‘hologram’, the potential is there for all to see. I look forward to seeing where the creator could go with this, with no restrictions on aquarium size and the species that inhabit it, the sky is seemingly the limit!
